The New Policy Institute
The New Policy Institute is a progressive think tank, founded in 1996. Our mission is to advance the cause of social justice in a market economy. Two major areas of interest are first, modern society's major services, from health to finance and second, the tax and benefits system. Our focus is on policy development, identifying the practical actions that can be taken in order to achieve certain ends. Building on both our own and others' research, our work is forward looking, examining problems and suggesting solutions. Often these solutions are concerned with how government can influence the behaviour of private companies, public services and local community bodies by altering the environment in which they make their decisions.
